Maya Johnson is a dedicated cellist who began playing cello at age 11.
She became a member of the Petersburg Symphony Orchestra as a high school freshman. Maya also began performing with the VCU Health Orchestra in January 2020, and also performs regularly with the Virginia Union University Community Orchestra.
In addition to her regular orchestral participation, Maya performs throughout the Richmond and Tri-Cities Area accompanying vocal groups such as the Virginia Union University Gospel Choir and the One Voice Chorus and performing in small string ensembles for weddings and other social events.
If she’s not behind the cello, you’ll find Maya reading, playing piano, or researching cognitive science and personal development for her day job as a Learning Assistance Professional.
An email will be sent to Harmony's CEO, Shelley Greene.
